My music is an
appropriate
background for sociable conversations and dining, and/or an
enjoyable accompaniment to dancing. I know that music can enliven any event, and I watch the guests and adjust my selections to please. I know that people don't lilke to shout over the volume of the music, so I adjust volumes to meet their needs. I believe that most of the time people like to hear pieces they are familiar with, even if the genre is not their favorite. Their listening pleasure is enhanced when the arrangement of the tune is familiar. I follow these guidelines as I add pieces to my repertoire. I try to honor special requests for tunes not in my book if I have several weeks' notice, and play all requests during a job that happen to be in my repertoire. |
